our trainers
My love & passion for dogs & dog training started at a very young age. My first 2 dogs were a dachshund & a dachshund x corgi. They certainly weren't the easiest dogs to train but spending hours enjoying their company & the challenge of training taught me a lot of great skills.
My next dog was a border collie x kelpie, Jasmine. She showed me that the sky is the limit. We performed training & trick shows at many agricultural shows, aged care homes, schools & even Jimmy Barnes stage! Unfortunately living in Manjimup I was limited on the further skills we could learn despite making my own agility arena in the paddock.
In 2009 I moved to Bunbury & joined the Bunbury & Districts Dog Club with my border collie Skye. I was very fortunate to gain a fantastic coach, Sandra, who taught me so much about the sports of agility & obedience.
Skye & I started competing in obedience & agility in 2010 & learnt so many new skills about dog behaviour & training. Since then I have had Turbo, Ollie, Kalani & Lulu join our pack & journey. I have been very lucky to compete at high levels & win & place in many big events such as the Perth Royal Show, VIC agiliy nationals, state trials & Western Classics.
After gaining such a large skill set for dog training & behaviour modification I started K9 Connections & traveled in Victoria to again my Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training through the National Dog Training Federation.
Running K9 Connections is much more than a career, it's a passion & lifestyle. It is highly rewarding to rehabilitate dogs, work with dogs & their owners, educate people, train high level competition dogs as well as work alongside fantastic rescues such as SAFE & BARRC.
